Privacy Policy & Terms
1. Who we are
Solvino (the app for iPhone, iPad and Android, and the web version) is operated by OverStartup GmbH, SportPlatzWeg 19, 87471 Durach, Deutschland, which is the controller of your personal data. For privacy questions or data requests, contact contact@overstartup.com or +49 831 52 71 50 82.
Our servers and database are hosted in Germany (European Union).
2. Information we collect
Account. When you first open the app we create a random device identifier and ask you for a display name — no email or password is needed to play. The identifier links this device to your account so your coins and progress come back when you open the app. You can optionally add an email address (Profile → Account), confirmed with a one-time code; it lets you recover your account on another device. We never show your email to other players.
Gameplay. Puzzles played and solved, answers' results, scores and points, time taken, mistakes, hints used, coins earned and spent (including on which game), coin balance, streaks, trophies and daily quest progress — so your progress and leaderboard rank are kept.
Purchases. Coin packs and the ad-free subscription are paid through Apple's App Store, Google Play, or — in the web version — Stripe. We never see or store your card details. We keep a record of what was bought, the store's transaction id and the date, to grant the purchase and stop the same receipt being used twice. For web purchases we also keep the Stripe customer and subscription ids.
Invites. If you invite friends or join through an invite, we store your invite code and who invited whom, to pay the invite bonus. On Android the app reads the Google Play install referrer to pick up the invite code automatically. On iPhone, when someone opens an invite link, we briefly remember the link's code together with their IP address (in memory only, for a short time) to match it to the app installed right after.
Advertising. In the free version, Google AdMob shows ads, including optional videos that give coins or hints. AdMob may collect an advertising identifier and other device information to show and measure ads. Where the law requires it (e.g. in the EU/UK) we ask for your consent to personalised ads through Google's consent prompt, and you can change your choice later. Ad-free subscribers see no ads.
Technical data. Your IP address and basic request logs, needed to run the service, keep it secure and fix problems.
3. Where your data is stored
- Our servers in Germany hold your account, progress and purchase records.
- On your device the app keeps your device identifier, display name and settings, plus a copy of the identifier in the device's secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore), so reinstalling the app on the same device restores your account.
- iPhone and iPad: that secure copy syncs through your iCloud Keychain (if you use it), so your account follows you to your other Apple devices. It is encrypted by Apple and only readable by Solvino on your devices.
- Android: the app's settings, including the identifier, can be included in your Google device backup (if you use it), so reinstalling the app or moving to a new phone can restore your account.
4. What we do not collect
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data, or any government-issued ID, and we don't require your real name.
5. How we use it, and why we may
- To run the game: your account, progress, coins, purchases, leaderboard and invites — necessary to provide the service you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Personalised ads in the free version — with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); otherwise non-personalised ads, in our legitimate interest in funding a free game (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Security and fraud prevention, such as blocking a reused purchase receipt or invite abuse — our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Keeping records the law requires, e.g. for tax (Art. 6(1)(c)).
The leaderboard shows your display name and score to other players — never your email. We do not sell your personal data.
6. Service providers
| Service | What for | Their policy |
|---|---|---|
| Hosting provider (Germany) | Runs our servers and database | — |
| Google AdMob | Ads and reward videos (free version) | policies.google.com/privacy |
| Apple App Store / Google Play | In-app purchases and subscriptions | Apple · Google |
| Stripe | Payments in the web version | stripe.com/privacy |
| Email delivery provider | Sends the email codes (confirm, recover, delete) | — |
| Apple iCloud Keychain / Google backup | Your own device backup and sync (see section 3) | Apple · Google |
All fonts are part of the app and this website — they are not loaded from Google Fonts or any other outside server.
Some of these providers may process data outside the EU (for example in the USA). Where they do, the transfer is covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Children
Solvino is not directed at children under 13 (or the age of digital consent where you live), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact contact@overstartup.com and we will delete it.
8. Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your account and gameplay data while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time:
- In the app: Profile → Account → Delete account.
- On the web: solvino-api.turtoo.app/DeleteAccount (for accounts with a confirmed email).
- By email: contact@overstartup.com.
Deleting removes your display name, email, device link, progress, coins, points, trophies, quests and play history. We keep only an anonymous record of past purchases (product, store transaction id, date) with no name, email or device attached — needed to prevent receipt fraud and for legal record-keeping. Email codes expire after 10 minutes. A web (Stripe) subscription is cancelled when you delete your account; App Store and Google Play subscriptions must be cancelled in the store.
9. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time (e.g. for personalised ads). Contact contact@overstartup.com. You can also complain to a data protection authority — ours is the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach. Residents of California have similar rights under the CCPA/CPRA.
10. Terms of use
- Coins are virtual items for use in Solvino only. They have no cash value and can't be exchanged, transferred or paid out. Coins you buy are used up when you spend them.
- Purchases are handled by the App Store, Google Play or Stripe under their terms. Refunds are given as those stores' rules and the law require.
- The ad-free subscription removes ads and includes a weekly coin bonus. It renews automatically until you cancel it in the App Store, Google Play or — for web purchases — by writing to us or deleting your account. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period keeps running.
- Fair play. Don't cheat, exploit bugs, automate play, or misuse invites or purchases. We may remove coins or rewards gained that way, or close an account that does it.
- Display names are shown on the leaderboard. Don't use offensive or impersonating names; we may change such a name.
- The service is provided as it is, and we may change or end features or puzzles. Statutory rights, including liability for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health, are not limited. German law applies, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection in your country.
11. Changes
We may update this page as Solvino changes. Important changes will be shown here with a new "Last updated" date.
